Killings become vital problem from different parts of Rwanda

Nowadays, there is a big issue of people killing each other for being paid, killing people while stealing and being killed meanwhile; they want to fight against security agencies.   Here are some examples from different sides of country.

Muhanga district 28-year-old man was shot in the early morning of Tuesday, April 11, 2023. It happened in Musengo Village, Kivumu Cell, Cyeza Sector.

The security agencies in Muhanga District shot a resident named Dusabe Albert who tried to resist agaist them when he was going to show the place where he committed the crime suspected of killing Dr Muhirwe Karoro Charles who was a teacher at the University of Rwanda, Nyagatare Department.

It is said that this 28-year-old man was shot in the early morning of Tuesday, April 11, 2023. It happened in Musengo Village, Kivumu Cell, Cyeza Sector.

The story of the death of Dr. Muhirwe Karoro became known on April 3, 2023, when information was released by the investigative agencies that said that among those involved in his murder was this Dusabe.

During the interrogation, Dusabe admitted that he killed Dr Muhirwe Karoro and said that he had been promised 300 thousand Frw by Minani Lambert as the cost of killing. He also admitted that when he died Dr Muhirwe had already received the first 70 thousand Frw.

Gicumbi district 29-year-old man suspected of stealing a motorcycle after killing its owner and he got arrested.

The Rwandan police in Gicumbi District arrested a 29-year-old man suspected of stealing a motorcycle after killing its owner. It was a murder committed on April 7, when this man and his partner attacked a motorist on the road, when he was returning home, in Runaba Village, Shangasha Cell, Shangasha Sector.

He was arrested after it was reported that the 21-year-old deceased had been killed and stolen from his motorcycle.

SP Alex Ndayisenga, who is in charge of coordinating police and community activities in the Northern Province, said that the murder happened at around 9:00 pm according to the information provided by the mother of the deceased, that her child did not come home.

The arrested person was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (RIB) at Byumba Station while the search for their accomplice is ongoing.

If found guilty, he will be punished under Article 107 of Law No. 68/2018 of 30/08/2018, which provides for crimes and punishments in general. It states that a person who kills another willfully commits a crime. If convicted, he will be sentenced to life imprisonment.

Gasabo District Resident called Eric Ntibiringirwa killed his neighbor over dispute of potatoes farm.

This tragedy story was disseminated last Friday on 7th April 2023, the day of starting a week of commemoration of Genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda.

When the Police come to arrest him, he tried to chop them with machete, and got shot to death.

Executive Secretary of Sector Rutunga, Iyamuremye Francoise said that Eric was a quick temper and very aggressive. He asked villagers to inform any conflict to the administration before causing any harm.  

Bugesera District Two men suspected theft were shot to death after being caught and attempt fighting against security agencies

This happened tonight on 10th April, 2023 in Bugesera District, Mayange Sector. Two suspected men with machete tried to attack police while they were ordered to stop and were shot to death.

The Executive Secretary of Mayange Sector, Sebarundi Ephrem, told Kigali Today that those who were shot are Rukeratabaro Gad, 35 years old, who lives in Mayange Sector, and Urayeneza Jean De Dieu, who was born in Rilima Sector, and he is 35 years old.

Acquaintances of the two men said that they used to be thieves and were once imprisoned, but after being released, they continued to steal. Among the things found were televisions, as well as many keys and other tools used to dig into people’s houses.

The spokesperson of the Rwanda Police, CP John Bosco Kabera, says that the Rwanda Police has taken strong measures to completely suppress those who use traditional weapons in robbery and end up killing the people, which should be stopped completely.
